Organic Hard Red Spring Wheat Organic Stone Ground Flour
Packaged for long-time storage
We use only hard red spring wheat, which is famous for
its high quality. Millers commonly mix it with lower grades of wheat
to raise the quality of the flour. We don't. What we offer is the
highest quality flour from the highest quality wheat we can produce.
Stone grinding is a special process which yields the desirable
texture of fine flour and relatively coarse bran. Because of this,
stone ground baked goods have a distinctively wholesome and natural appeal.
The heavy plastic barrier bags we use for packaging keep
the nitrogen in and the oxygen out, greatly prolonging the freshness and
nutritional value of the flour
OUR PRODUCTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
We grow organic hard red spring wheat and package it whole
or grind it into flour on our farm in northeastern Montana.
Our packaging methods are suitable for long-time storage,
whether for keeping a good supply on hand or preparedness for natural disasters.
We seal the whole grains in durable plastic bags. For packaging our
flour we flush the bags with nitrogen to exclude the oxygen before sealing.
Nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that makes up over three
quarters of the air we breathe. This nitrogen flush preserves the oil soluble
vitamins in the flour and prevents rancidity.
